My profile pic shows I'm big fan of '80s fashion. People love to bash it now days, but there was just something so free about those styles. C'mon, admit there is something you liked to sport during that time. Here's a few I rocked in the '80s.

Jelly bracelets, the more, the better:

Jelly shoes (to go with my bracelets)

Reebox high tops (not just for Jazzercise)

yep, me too.. I had like a special technique too, where i would like fold the jeans a little before starting to roll them up..lol nowadays kids are doing the same but with shorts

If you didn't roll your jeans, there was always the zippers at the ankles to help make the pants super tight.-image-
Can't forget the acid wash denim:

  6. hehe, yup, had to preroll those jeans eh smetcho. lol

i also had some whitewash jeans. They were hard to find though. All the cool kids in school always wore them but i could never find any in stores when shopping with my mom.... wonder why....

yeah andy, i had those slap bracelets too

still have them somewhere.... getting some awesome nostaliga from this thread. Thanks tangerine :(

Did any of you have a Hypercolor shirt? As a kid I thought those were so cool, but didn't have one. As an adult, I wouldn't want people to see where I was getting sweaty. Ah, the innocence of youth.

I loved snap bracelets. We would all drive our teachers crazy snapping them all day in class.
Thanks Ilovethe80s, I have fun remembering some of these wacky, fun fashion items. The
other day, I saw a kid sporting jelly shoes, so who knows what else will come back around :D

  8. Shoulder pads in jackets and even shirts gave everyone extra stature (or perhaps the look of a linebacker). Cast of Facts of Life sporting some:

This maternity outfit being worn by Grace Jones (1979) may have called in the 80s fashion on its own.

There may be nothing more singularly symbolic of 80s sexiness than a red or even white or tan pair leather pumps. The sound they make on a hard surface reverberating through a hallway would make anyone man's hair stand on end.

Yes!! I'd like to see it. I'm "rocking" one now, started it a year ago kind of as a tribute to the 80s... plan on cutting it down to a rat tail for a little while and then cutting it off completely. I remember when I was a kid my mom and aunt disparaging a kid's rat tail when we were at the zoo, so I guess that's part of the appeal  ;)

Arg, not the rat tail, Dodger. Here's a future pic of me removing that tail. Just kidding, you know I dig '80s fashion ;) You are pulling off the mullet, so maybe the rat tail, too.

  19. Hahaha the rat tail. I remember a few people in high school wearing those and even working with a lady who had one back in 2000.

    For fancy hands:

Lee Press on Nails and Madonna inspired lace gloves. On tv shows and movies, they always seem to have some character losing a fake nail somewhere, lovely. I have to admit I had a pair of lace gloves and thought they were awesome. Don't think I'll be bringing those back out now.
